The 2023 IBC Brokers on Underwriters Awards named David Park, PMU Specialty Underwriter, as a recipient of the 5-star underwriter award in Canada. The award recognizes the top 45 underwriters who make profitable decisions and deliver outstanding customer service to brokers and stakeholders.

David joined the team at Safe Harbour Insurance (part of the Reliance Group) in 2022 as the lead Western Canadian Marine Account Manager to help boaters mitigate risk before they get in the water. His exceptional mathematical and problem-solving skills, along with his academic background caught the eye of Mashood Ali, Chief Underwriting Officer, and Director, PMU Specialty. Quickly after, Mashood convinced David to become an underwriter, and he transitioned well into the role and has been a great addition to the team. David brings to the table a deep understanding of how to analyze the numbers, an asset that will help clients make the right risk decisions. His superior communication skills and determination to troubleshoot client issues, along with his strong work ethic, have quickly proven to be a valuable asset with our brokers, who nominated him for this recognition.
